You can sponsor your spouse, partner, or dependent child if you:

  • Are at least 18 years old

  • Are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person registered under the Canadian Indian Act

  • Are not receiving social assistance (except for disability reasons)

  • Can financially support the sponsored person(s)

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • As a sponsor, you must commit to financially supporting the sponsored person(s) for a specific period (financial undertaking) and sign a sponsorship agreement outlining mutual responsibilities.
